As well as supporting people with loans for their small businesses we would also like to give some of them the opportunity to sell and export the products they make. We intend to partner with a small number of organisations to allow you to directly order products made by artisans in developing countries.
Our first partner is UK social enterprise Khama who work with a variety of artisans and makers in their workshop in Kasungu, Malawi, as well as in the surrounding villages to handcraft beautiful, unique items. Khama has its own workshop, has a direct relationship with its producers, and also acts as a hub for other local makers to come in for work or training. Khama's producers originally benefited from a loan from our partner in Malawi, The Microloan Foundation.
