Mupfuti Group needed £767.44 for their business.
Hamunyari Geni is a member of the Mupfuti group. She is 42 year old living in Banket, Zvimba. She is in the cross boarder business; travelling to Botswana 2 to 4 times a month, purchasing electrical products like fridges, stoves and televisions for resale. With Banket surrounded by a number of farms, Hamunyari’s customers are mainly farmers especially soon after harvest time they intend to upgrade their homes using some of their profits. Hamunyari’s business is her main source of income for the past 15 years. Hamunyari is a single mother of 2 children, both of them are going to school. She stays at her late parents’ home and she is now the default home owner since she does not have any other siblings. She is however in constant arguments with her uncles (her father’s brothers) who want to inherit her father’s home. As a result she has bought a residential stand nearby and hopes to commence construction so as to move out of her parents’ house. Hamunyari will invest her share of the money to her trade business. Her loan of $300 will be used to purchase television sets for resale from Botswana since she received orders from a number of customers.
Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted. You can find more information here.
