Loan description:
Mr. Sambath An is 30 years old and has two children, age 7 and 2. Only his older child is currently in school. He has been a farmer for over 10 years and at the moment he cultivates rice crops on two hectares of land. Once those crops have been harvested he grows green beans on the same land and he yields around 800 kilograms per hectare. To enable him to produce more rice to sell, he also rents another plot of land (around two more hectares). This costs him $300 per year. To make sure he can produce more rice crops for sale on the market then he has requested a 12-month loan in order to purchase an additional hectare of rice paddy to grow this dry season rice. With this land he expects to collect three more tonnes of crops to sell. This farming land costs $3000 and he will use this loan and some of his own savings to make this purchase.
