Loan description:
Honeylyn Nasataya is a 41-year-old, married with two children age 8 and 13 years old. Both of her children are attending school in their place called Upper Cogon which is in the town of Bogo in Cebu province. She is married to Vincent Aris who is a 41-year-old seaman.
To support her husband in dealing with their household expenses, Honeylyn started a business 2011 which is focused in selling herbal products and name the product 'Honeylyn Herbal' made of honey. She found a good supplier of honey and labelled the product herself. She rented a small space in the town centre where she sells other products like food snacks and cold drinks. Honeylyn also joined a networking group where she sells cosmetics, lotions/beauty and wellness products. She is also selling her mother's delicacy called tamarind and peñato which is good for gifts/presents. Honeylyn markets her products on a well-known website through Facebook to attract more customers and accept orders online. On a daily basis her sales are between 800 to 1,500 pesos (£11 to £21). She hires one of her relative to help her in the shop.
To increase her sales, Honeylyn decided to start printing out tickets for airlines and ferries for her customers. To access a capital to start her new business, Honeylyn applied for a new loan from the microfinance organisation called Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative. She will use the money to buy two printers one to print airline tickets and the other one specifically made to print ferry tickets and the printers will cost about 15,000 pesos (£214). She will also have installed internet connection which is very essential for her new business. A portion of the loan will be used to increase her capital for her other business which is online bills payment, remittance of government monthly contributions, top-up load, cash-ins, and money transfers. She is a certified partner of ECPAY which stands for Electronic Commerce Payments.
Honeylyn is finding ways to earn more money to help her husband in dealing with their expenses and saving for the future of their children. She promises to repay her loan over 24 months
