Chabota Group needed £1681.07 for their business.
The Chabota group are based in Livingstone which is the closest town to Victoria falls. There are 11 women in this group aged between 21 and 60. Most of these women are married and some widowed. Most of them have children who are in school. They also collectively look after orphans who they fund to attend school. These women run small scale businesses like market and grocery stalls to support their families and to be financially independent. The group has successfully been trained in the business management skills and are excited to be able to use a loan to expand their businesses.
Group member Minina is 29 years old and runs a grocery stall selling soap, cooking oil and sugar. She would like to use her loan to order more stocks of her business, which she would like to bulk buy so it is cheaper and can earn her more profit. From the profits, Minina hopes to expand her business and open another grocery stall in a different location to maximise profit. She also hopes to build a family house. The group will repay their loan over 6 months.
