The Trust group comprises of 14 women aged between 21 and 54. Most of these women are married but others are widowed. These women have children who are in school and they also take care of orphans who are also in schools. The group is based in the Petauke district of Zambia. These women run small-scale businesses such as selling tomatoes, fresh and dry fish, groceries and fruit, with the hope of improving their living conditions. The group is requesting their ninth loan, which will be used as top up capital for their businesses.

32 year old Atilesy Zulu is a member of this group. She runs a market stall selling different types of ‘kapenta’ (small fish), tomatoes, onion and guavas. She is married with two children in school. She started this business in order to boost her family’s financial and economical status. She is requesting this loan as capital to order more stock of kapenta and beans for her stall. After ordering these things her business will attract a lot of customers hence she will make more profits.
