Ulimbe Group needed £2460.83 for their business.
This is a group loan to the Ulimbe women who are based in the Petauke district of Eastern Zambia. The group has 11 women members between the ages of 23 and 45. These women are married, some are single and others divorced and they have 77 children between them who go to school. These women also look after 11 orphans who go to school too. They run small market and grocery stalls in the local market of their town. The group receives business management skills training from Lendwithcare’s microfinance partner, MicroLoan Foundation, at every repayment meeting. They are requesting their third loan from the organization after successfully repaying their previous loans.
One of these women is Alice Mwanza. She is 38 years old, married and has four children. She runs a salon plaiting different hair styles and treating hair. She runs her business in the market and has had her business for three years now. She is requesting this loan to top up her business capital and order hair extensions, wigs, lotions and a few cosmetics for her salon. Most of her customers are people in her community and the surrounding areas. As a woman she is self-reliant and able to stand on her own because of her business.
