Eric Dusingizimana is a 29 years old farmer, he lives with his wife and their 2 children. Both of their children attend school. He has a shop and sells groceries like – rice, sugar, salt, cooking oil and other assorted household items. He continuously needs to re-fill the items in his shop to keep up with his customers.
His customers are increasing and he wants to buy the items he sells in his shop in bulk from the wholesale market for keeping the buying cost low and increase the profits. Eric applied for a loan to have as working capital, he will use the loan money to buy 400 kgs of beans, 200 kgs of soybeans, 500 kgs of potatoes and assorted vegetables. He employs four people to help him upload the goods, shelve the items, help the customers transport the large volumes of items they buy and other work needed in the shop. He hopes his business will continue to grow with the profit increasing too. He will repay the loan in 24 months.
His plan is to build a house for his family. Eric says that the loans are very helpful to small-scale business holder like him.
