Takumana group is comprised of 25 women who are of different ages. All are married with their own children and orphans between them. The majority of these children go to school. They run various small businesses such as stalls selling fish, groceries, livestock and clothes in order to earn a living and provide for their families. A member of this group Rosemary, is 32 years old. She is married with 4 children. Her husband works in brick laying. Rosemary sells fritters, vegetables and fish. She requires the money to buy more stock such as flour, cooking oil and sugar. She will also buy more fish and tomatoes for resell. She started the business to be able to provide for her family and send her children to school. She has been running the business for 3 years and one of her family members currently works in the business. Her future goal is to educate her children.
