Pachipamwe Group needs just £770.00 to complete their loan
Pachipamwe is a Shona word which means we are still together. Beauty Chamisa is a member of this group. She is a widow who stays in the suburb of Mabelreign in Harare, Zimbabwe where she built her house. She is 59 years old. She has 4 children but now she is staying with 2 of them and the other 2 now have their own homes.
Beauty raises and sells broiler chickens from home. She started this business in 1982. Her business has been sustainable and profitable over the years. Last year she got her first loan from Thrive with this same group. With her loan she managed to space batches of 100 birds with two weeks. She also has been able to pay school fees for her children. She supplies her chickens to local canteens as well as to individuals. Her market is growing and the demand for her chickens is increasing since they are usually well raised in quality. Beauty will use her portion of the loan to purchase another batch of 100 chickens.
Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted. You can find more information here.
