Luyaba Group needed £1446.42 for their business.
This loan is for a group named Luyaba women’s group of Kalomo, which has 13 members aged between 19 and 61. Most of these women are married and some are widowed. They have 63 children who are in school and also care for 8 orphans. They started their businesses for different reasons but mostly to reduce poverty levels within their families and to be financially independent. Catherine Semoni is 48 years old and a member of this group. She is married and has four children who are in school. She runs a market stall selling beans, kapenta (small fish), tomatoes and assorted vegetables. She has been doing this business for over fifteen years now. She is requesting this loan to buy potatoes, tomatoes and beans for her stall. Catherine will use part of her profits to send her children to school. She is also saving to buy a plot of land on which to build a family house. Catherine is grateful and happy for the loans she has accessed as it has helped her look after her children and has enabled her to support herself.
