Malik needed £177.31 for his business.
Occupant of Badami Bagh in Lahore, Mr. Malik Javed, is a scrap dealer and has been for the past 20 years. He primarily deals in LCD scrap and earns up to £126 a month. He buys damaged LCDs from local people as well from companies. He extracts the important circuits and spares from the LCDs and sells to LCD makers. He runs this business to support his family - he is married and has four children. All of his children are getting an education. Recently he incurred some losses in his business and it made him feel pretty stressed. He has therefore applied for an interest free loan from local microfinance organisation, Akhuwat, so that he can pay for the orders he has already made. Selling his goods in the market will help compensate the loss he recently incurred and get him back to a stable cycle of income and expenditure.
He normally gets contracts from offices, who sell him old and damaged LCDs. Due to low investment he was not able to win orders. That’s why he has applied for loan.
