Patrocenia needed £624.15 for her business.
Patrocenia is a 63 year old married woman with four children. She lives with one of children, two grandchildren and her mother, in the village of Tinaan in the City of Naga in Cebu province. In 1991 Patrocenia opened a restaurant in the town’s public market. She used to be in the old public market and then transferred to the new market, which opened more than 2 years ago. As it is the summer holidays her two grandchildren are helping run the store. In June she plans to hire her daughter-in-law. Patrocenia cooks at home and brings the cooked food to her restaurant at around 5 in the morning. She does have a portable stove in the restaurant where she can easily reheat her meals, cook rice and additional dishes if needed. Her shop is usually open at 4 in the morning and she offers bread, biscuits, hot drinks and noodles to her customers, who are mostly market vendors. She earns on average 3,500 Philippine pesos (about £50) a day. Patrocenia has been a loyal member of Lendwithcare’s microfinance partner, Lamac
Multi-Purpose Cooperative, for more than five years now. She has received and repaid several loans during this time. She requested this loan in order to have additional working capital to purchase the ingredients for her daily meals and the foods snacks she sells. This is her main source of income to support her needs and the needs of her family members. She intends to repay her loan in 3 months.
