Muhammad needed £246.07 for his business.
Muhammad Ramzan is from the town of Kasur in eastern Pakistan. Ramzan sahib is married with two sons and two daughters. His children have completed their basic schooling. One of his sons is working and operates a power loom and earns around £100 per month. Ramzan’s wife works from home as an embroiderer undertaking ‘silma sitara’ work. This involves sewing sequins by hand on to fabric that is used to make women’s clothing worn on special occasions such as weddings. The fabric is stretched on a wooden frame. She receives orders from local clothes retailers and earns about £50 per month. It can take many hours and even days to complete one outfit. Ramzan requested a loan to buy better quality fabric, sequins and other accessories in greater quantities for his wife to work with. He requested a loan as she does not have a valid ID card.
