Sambok Ok Village, Kampong Prieng Commune,, Cambodia
Thieng needed £629.85 for his business.
Mr. Thieng is 54 years old and has four children, aged between 18 and 10 years old. His two younger children go to school. Presently he and his wife grow rice on three hectares of land. By growing wet season rice he can collect 3 tons per hectare to sell on. Every year they usually sell their rice crops directly to their local merchants at their farm, after the crops have been harvested. To get more rice crops to sell on the market they decided to request this 12 month loan in order to purchase a 3000 square metre plot of farming land to grow more wet season rice. They expect to get a yield of around 1 ton, which they will sell on. This farm land will cost around $2000, and they will add their own savings of around $1000 to make the purchase.
