Sophia Gwaze is a strong businesswoman who is an Ecocash agent and sells groceries and maize at Landos growth point in Chihota. Sophia requested her second loan from our local partner organisation, Thrive. Sophia has two childen who attend school and her husband works as a builder. She belongs to a womens group called Movement which was formed to seek and repay loans. The group is coming together for a second time as they feel the challenges of working in an economy where there is an extreme shortage of cash. Sophia provides Ecocash services to her clients which is very valuable at a time of cash shortages. Sophia usually buys maize from local villages and re-sells at growth point.  Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted.

loan added: 10 May 2018
