San Rafael, Ecuador
Humberto milleres needed £1629.63 for his business.
Humberto Milleres Beltrán comes from the parish of San Rafael. He has been farming peppers and onions for 20 years now. He is married and he and his wife have three daughters together. He uses the money he earns from farming to cover their household expenses.
Humberto has requested a loan of $2,000 to be repaid over 18 months. He will use the money to buy farming inputs for his pepper and onion crops, which are ready to harvest.
Humberto sells his produce in the main markets in Ibarra or Bolívar. The income from his sales enables him to cover his family’s expenses, and also keep a portion to invest in his farming. For Humberto one of the benefits of his business is being able to help people in his area. He hires them during sowing and harvesting seasons, or to look after his crops.
