Son La, Vietnam
Dao needed £603.05 for her business.
Living a life full of challenges, Mrs. Dao has been struggling to raise a family of 5. She is 33 years old, living with her husband and their two school-aged children. Her mother-in-law is nearly 80 and has spinal pains. Nursing an old mother and two growing children requires her to sacrifice her time and efforts. Their main income derives from growing water rice and corn in a 2000 s.q meter farm land. The family’s income is about $105 per month. It is not enough to cover their living expenses and education for her children.
Mrs. Dao is in need of financial help. Her mother goes to the hospital quite often and the medical fees incurred have risen day by day. To pay for those expenses, Mrs. Dao is determined to expand her farm. She has applied for a loan of $773 to buy 15 pigs and breeding food for them. After 7 – 8 months, the pigs can be sold for a profit. This additional income will not only help pay her mother’s health bills, but also enable the whole family to find their way out of poverty. The loan is repayable over 24 months.
