Arraba/ Jenin/ Palestine, Palestinian Territories
Sana needed £2340.43 for her business.
Sana is a 24 years old. She lives in a town called “Arraba” near Jenin with her husband and their three children. Sana is working in the field of confectionery. She makes desserts and cakes for parties and weddings. She started up her project five years ago by making the desserts in her own kitchen and then promoting them locally. Her husband helps her to deliver the orders to the customers in his car. Her present income is $500 per month.
She wants to expand her business because the wedding and party season is about to start, so she has applied for a loan to buy raw materials for her baking such as cooking oil, 500 kilos of white sugar, which will cost 500 dollars, 200 kilo of almonds (400 dollars), 500 kilos of semolina (350 dollars) and cooking dyes (400 dollars), trays for the desserts and a new oven. She will buy these products in bulk so she can increase her profit margins.
She hopes to continue helping her family through the income she earns from the business and she plans to open her own bakery in the near future. She intends to repay the loan over 30 months.
