Mavambo Group needed £774.65 for their business.
Mary Mutungwazi is a part of the Mavambo group. She is a 45 year old widow with four children to care for. Mary joined the group and wants to take a loan of $200 to grow her trading business. She trades in neighbouring countries where her profits are higher. She buys groceries in South Africa in bulk at cheaper prices. Buying in bulk allows her to cut travelling expenses thereby increasing her profits. She hopes that this business will allow her to pay school fees for all her children so they can continue to be educated up to tertiary level. Increasing her profits will allow her to continue supporting her extended family and grow her business. She wants to use her profits and savings to rent a shop in a local shopping centre so she can attract a greater number of customers. The Mavambo group is made up five women who run businesses selling second hand clothes, making floor polish and rearing chickens. In total the group are seeking $1000 to help develop their businesses so they can increase their profit and provide for their families
