Fitness Group needed £1195.65 for their business.
Sibongile is a 45 year old woman who lives in Knowe, Norton. She is involved in the business of raising and selling broiler chickens. She is married and her husband works in Botswana. She has been in this business for more than 10 years. She supplies broiler chickens to neighbours and local butcheries in Norton. Through her business she has been able to support her family and her 3 children attend good schools. Sibongile together with 2 other women, Janet and Khanyisile, are members of the Fitness group. They came to Thrive Microfinance to access credit for their businesses and received financial literacy training through Thrive before receiving their first loan. They are applying for a joint loan of $1500 to invest in their separate businesses. Sibongile will use her portion of the loan to increase her capacity. She currently keeps 100 broilers at a time and wants to raise that number to 200 broilers at a time.
Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted. You can find more information here.
