This loan is for a group named Popota women’s group, which has 12 members who range in age from 26 to 52.The marital status of these women are different some are single, some married, some divorced and others widowed. Most of these women have children and look after orphans who go to school. Women of this group have different small-scale businesses which include selling potatoes, pots and groceries. They started their businesses for different reasons, but mostly to reduce poverty levels within their families and to be independent. The group is applying for second loan. The loan will mean they will meet the needs of their customers thereby making more profits. They use profits to buy household goods, clothes, pay for their children school fees and make home improvements.
Priscilla Mubanga aged 23 and mother of three children is a member of this group. She runs a market stall selling pop corns and bakes fritters in the local market of her community. She has plans of diversifying her business when she has enough capital. She is requesting for this loan to order more stock of popcorn and baking ingredients for her stall. She will use part of her profits to send her children to school. She is also saving to buy a plot were to build a family house.
