Ipusukilo needed £2323.55 for their business.
This is a group loan to the Ipusukilo women who are based in the Southern part of Zambia. There are 17 members in this group aged between 19 and 48. Some of the women in this group are single and married while others are widowed. They have children who go to school and also look after school going orphans. The women of this group have different small-scale businesses which include selling fish, salaula (second hand clothes), assorted groceries and vegetables. Each of them has a unique reason as to why they started their business; one woman started her business in order to save for her children’s secondary education. The group is requesting for its third loan which they wish to use as top up on their existing capitals.
Grace Chimuka 44 years old is a member of this group. She runs a market stall selling sweet potatoes, Irish potatoes and assorted vegetables. She is requesting for this loan to order more stock of irish potatoes and vegetables for her stall. She also hopes to start building a stall where she will be working from. This will enable her to have more customers thereby making more profits. Grace works at her stall alone but hopes to employ someone soon. From the profits she hopes to be able to send her children to school. As a woman she is grateful and happy for the loans she has accessed as they have helped her look after her relatives and has been able to support herself financially.
