Chileleko Group needed £2258.61 for their business.
20 women who run small scale businesses form the Chileleko group of Kalomo. These women are married and have children who are in school. Some among these women look after orphans in addition to their own children. These women came together so they could share business ideas and encourage one another to work hard so that they can be financially independent and to support their families. The group has successfully repaid their first loan and are now requesting a second loan after seeing the benefits from the first loan. 34 year old Mildah Mufwabi is the group chairperson. She is married and has three children who are in school. Mildah runs a hardware stall selling different types of paints, paint brushes and other building materials. She orders her stock from South Africa and suppliers in her district. She has had her business for the last 10 years and she is happy her business is now stable. She is even able to support her family financially from the profits of her sales. She has requested this loan to order more stocks of oil and paint for her shop.
