Takumana has fully repaid their loan of £717.32
The Takumana group is composed of 17 women. All are married except for 5 who are divorced and 1 who is single. They have children who rely upon them and most of these children go to school. The women run various small businesses mainly market stalls selling vegetables, groceries, potatoes and wrappers. They require the loan to buy more products and restock their business. Ruth is a member of the group and is aged 24. She is married with 2 children and her husband runs his own small business. She runs a grocery shop and now requires money to buy more grocery items such as soap, salt and cooking oil. She started the business to be self reliant and support her husband in providing for their family. She has been running the business for a year and her goal is to construct a house and to grow her business and make more profits and be able to open supplementary businesses.
