Blessing Group needed £819.15 for their business.
One of the members of the Blessing group is Makanyara Melo. She is looking to borrow a $200 share of this group loan to invest in her business rearing chickens. She wants to use her loan to buy more chickens and more feed so that she has more stock to sell on. Her hope is that, as her profits increase, she will be able to buy some pigs to diversify her business. Her husband is a farmer and the couple have 4 children, 3 of whom still live at home. With so many dependents, her husband’s income alone is not enough to sustain the family.
The five business women in the Blessing group want to borrow a total loan of $1050 to help them all grow their businesses. The reality of living in poverty is that even affording the basics such as food is a struggle. They hope that their businesses will change this.
Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted. You can find more information here.
