Imee needed £1873.87 for her business.
Imee Gabito is a mother of three children, aged 7, 12 and 16 years old. All of her children are attending the local school in their place called
Babag II in Cebu province. She is married to Ernie, who is a 40 year old mechanic. Aside from taking care of her children and the
household chores, Imee sells frozen foods like Shanghai ‘lumpia’ (spring rolls), chorizo and ‘longganisa’ hot dogs, which she stores in her freezer at home. Her customers are neighbours who visit her house to buy what they like. She restocks her products on a weekly basis and purchases her stock in Cebu city. Her husband Ernie is a mechanic who fixes or repairs damaged four wheel vehicles like ‘jeepneys’, ‘bongco’ trucks and multi-cabs. He hires two other staff who help him to cater for his customers’ requests. Ernie has gained the trust of many of his customers over the past fourteen years of doing business, since he always honest and provides the best service he can give to all of his customers. Ernie keeps stock of the vehicle parts that are most often needed during repairs, such as engine oil, brake fluid, spark plugs etc. Imee has been a member of Lendwithcare’s microfinance partner, Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative, for three years now and has already received and repaid six previous loans. She recently requested this new, larger loan in order to buy construction materials to build their own house. For the past twelve years, they have only rented a house and this time they want to have their own. The couple wish to provide a better standard of living for their children and save for their future, especially by sending them all to the highest education. Imee promises to repay her loan over twelve months.
