Kafue, Zambia, Zambia
New Hope needed £3606.76 for their business.
This is a group loan to the New Hope women who are based in Kafue district of Zambia. The group has a membership of 15 married women. These women run different small scale businesses to supplement their husbands’ efforts in providing for their families financially. They mainly run market and grocery stalls. They spend between 12 and 15 hours every day doing their businesses. These women lack enough capital to enable them order goods in bulk and other items on demand due to small capitals they have, so they have now requested for a loan which they will use to top up they business capitals and order more stock for their stalls.
Hellen Nyoni is 40 years old married and has seven children who are in school. She runs a market stall selling beans, bananas and kapenta (small fish). She also bakes homemade buns for sale. She orders her stock from within Kafue. She has been in this business for over 20 years now. She is requesting for this loan to order more beans and kapenta for her market stall as a way of expanding her business as she wishes to be selling on wholesale. She uses the profits gained to provide food for her family and pay school fees for her children.
