Noeurn needed £1936.62 for her business.
Mrs. Noeurn is 54 years old and she has three children, aged between 18 and 28. Her two younger children are at school. At the moment, Mrs Noeurn and her husband farm rice on 12 hectares. They are only able to grow wet season rice as their rice paddy is far away from the irrigation system, which means they can only grow rice once a year. In addition to rice farming she also grows cucumbers on 3,200 square meters and spends around 60 days cultivating them before they are ready to be picked and sold. She doesn’t sell her cucumbers at market but instead a middleman buys her cucumbers directly from her farm. This is an extra source of income for her family. She has applied for a 36 month loan in order to buy wood, brick, cement and zinc, the materials she requires to build a home. She will also use the loan to cover the carpenter costs. Apart from home improvements, Mrs Noeurn will use some of the loan is to invest in her rice farming. She will use the loan to buy seeds, commercial fertilizer, diesel for her tractor and to cover the cost of threshing her rice crops.
