‘’Starting a business is one thing and growing that business is another thing. Growing a business requires one to make use of business principles and this is what Thrive training program is all about’’, this is what Shelter had to say when she was asked how she had managed to grow her business since she joined Thrive in 2015. She is a married mother of 3 school going children, her husband is a self-employed motor mechanic, she is 47 years old. She stays with her family in her house in Crowborough-Harare. Shelter buys and sells Kapenta and Soya mince in Mbare Market. She restocks Soya mince in bulk and repacks them in packages of different sizes to cater for different customers. She has been in this trade for the past 6 years and her business has been growing very well. The group is based in Crowborough. She is a hard worker who spends most of her time in the market selling her products. She joined Thrive in June 2015 together with her other 3 friends and they formed a group which they named Light.  This time Shelter and her other group members have applied for a combined loan and she will use her portion of the loan to restock more soya mince and Kapenta.

Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted.  You can find more information here.
