Mrs. Seng Hun is 28 years old and she has a child aged 2 years old. Presently she and her husband cultivate dry season rice on a 17 hectare farm. They harvest this twice a year and their farm yields around three tons per hectare to sell on to the middleman. The have used their own tractor to plough the land over the last two years which helps cut down costs and to plough the land on time like their villagers. To ensure that they can continue to farm their rice on time as in previous years, they have applied for a 36 month loan in order to purchase fertilizer, pesticide, weed killer, diesel for the tractor and to cover harvesting costs.
