Syed Awais Ali is a resident of Kot Khawaja Saeed, in the city of Lahore. He has a small manufacturing business where he makes air and oil filters for automobiles. He earns around 20,000 Rupees (almost $191) monthly, from his vocation. Awais is single and lives with his father, two brothers and two sisters. His sisters look after the household and their elderly father. Both his brothers are receiving education, and Awais is the only earning hand in his household. With his current level of income, he and his family are barely able to fulfil their common domestic expenses. Awais now wants to expand his production and has applied for a loan. He needs to buy a new press machine. He will then be able to improve his production of filters. His earnings will increase and he will be in a position to provide better for his family.
