Bopha needed £864.89 for her business.
Mrs. Bopha is 41 years old and she has been a farmer for over 10 years. Currently she and her husband grow wet season rice on a one hectare farm. They produce three tons per harvest. They also rent another plot of land of around two hectares to grow more wet season rice. The rental cost is around $80 per hectare per annum. Aside from their rice farming, they also run another business buying and selling fish at their local market. They earn around $10 a day from this. To improve their working capital they have applied for a 12 month loan in order to purchase fertilizer, pesticide, weed killer, as well as to pay ploughing and harvesting costs. A part of the loan will also be used to buy fish for sale. Mrs. Bopha has two children, aged 14 and 12 years old, both of whom are at school.
