These women have 70 children who are in school and they also look after 15 orphans who are in school. They run small scale businesses which include selling kapenta (small fish), tomatoes and assorted groceries. This group has successfully repaid ten loans and they are now requesting for the eleventh loan.
Salome Mwale 34 years old is a member of this group. She is married and has five children who are all in school. She runs a market stall selling beans, kapenta (small fish) and onions. She has had her business for over five now and she has seen positive change in the livelihood of her family. She is requesting for this loan to order more stocks of kapenta and beans. After this order her stall will attract more customers which will then result in her making more profits. From the profits Salome hopes to be able to send her children to school.
