Waris Maseeh is 46 years old and a resident of Badami Bagh in Lahore city. He started a school in his neighbourhood, and makes about 30-35,000 Rupees (around $334) every month. Waris is married and a father of five daughters, aged between 23 to 17, and a son, who is 19 years old. Two of his daughters teach at the school, while two of them are still completing their education. His second eldest daughter, aged 22, helps out with the household work. Waris is looking to advance his schools facilities by opening up a fully functioning computer lab. His son who has recently completed his education is getting a run the computer lab. Waris lacks an adequate sum to invest, so he has applied for a loan. He will buy good quality computers and other accessories for the computer lab. The lab will attract more students. Waris currently employs two teachers at the school and he intends to increase the number in the future. His son and daughter will help run the lab and provide better quality education to the children.
