Loan description:
Mrs. Chann is 32 years old and she has a cassava growing business. Presently, she grows cassava on eleven hectares. This crop has a growing cycle of 10 months and a yield of 30 tons per hectare. They sell the crop to the middleman, after the root has been chopped. She hires 20 villagers to help her on planting and chopping the cassava root and each of them earns the standard wage of $5 a day. To increase her working capital, she decided to take a loan to buy commercial fertilizer, pesticide, weed killer, pay for ploughing costs (one hectare costs $120) and labouring costs. She expects to pay the loan back in 12 months.
