Nai is 34 years old and she and her husband have been farmers for many years. They have a rice farm of eight hectares where they grow dry season rice. They normally have 3 tons per hectare and sell it directly to their local middleman. They have used their own tractor to plough the land for the last 5 years. Nai and her husband have applied for a loan to cover their farming costs such as fertilizer, weed killer, diesel for their tractor. A part of the loan is used to buy a cow for raising at their home and sell it later. They will pay loan back during 24 months.
