Loan description:
Midia Marimo is a member of the Shingiriro group. She lives in Harare with her husband who is unemployed and 3 children. Midia sells mealie meal and she also raises poultry as a business. Before joining Thrive, Midia used to sell Maputi (popped corn) which she restocked twice a week. Due to increased demand, Midia needed to increase her stock levels. She joined Thrive in January 2016 and received business advice and a loan of $250 which she used to restock popped corn for her business. Midia said her business has improved and she can now restock popped corn thrice a week and she also started mealie meal selling from her business profits. She exchanges maize she gets from rural areas. Midia and her group members have now taken a further loan of $1,500 and she wants to use her portion of the loan to restock more maize to make sadza or mealie meal. With her profits, she is planning to open a tuck-shop.
