Matamando Group has 13 women based at Chipembere in Kasungu district. Majority of these women are married and have children who depend on them. They run different types of businesses including hair salon, farming, grocery store, selling snacks and vegetables. They would like to buy more products for their businesses with this loan they have requested. The proceeds from the businesses allows them to sustain their families. Sella is 60 years old, married with 1 child who depends on her. She together with her husband run a vegetable farming business and now require a loan to buy fertilizer, pesticides and seeds. The profits from the business enables her to pay for food and clothing for the family. She started the business to be able to educate her children, pay for food and medical bills. She has been running the business for 14 years and her plan is to build a house for her children. The access to these loans have helped her to be financially independent.
