Orn is 49 years old and has three kids, aged between 11 and 29 years. Her youngest is at school while her older is already working. Orn farms wet season rice in 2 hectares. To strengthen her working capital in preparation for a new planting season, she has taken a loan to buy another plot of land of around one hectare to increase her produce. Next time she could be farming rice in her own 3 hectares of land. She will hire ten villagers to help her on both planting and collecting the crops, each of them will earn around $5 a day. She will repay the loan in 24 months.
