Loan description:
Pos Dan is 32 years old. He farms rice on a land size of two and a half hectares. He grows wet season rice. Growing wet season rice allows him to collect around three tons of crops per hectare to complete market demand. The middleman buys all of his crops from his home after his crops are harvested and collected from the field.. When he gets free time from his rice farming activity he works for other villagers for example carrying their rice sack or works as construction worker. He earns around $8 a day from his extra work. To farm his wet season rice as previous year he applied for a loan in order to purchase seeds, insecticide (prevent insects destroying his crops), weed killer, fertilizer, pay for the ploughing cost paddy (one hectare costs $60).
