Loan description:
Mr. Heang Howurn who is in the photo grows his rice paddy on three hectares of farm land. He grows wet season rice. He collects two and a half tons of crops per hectare for sale on the market. Besides his rice paddy farming land he has another seven hectares of farming land. On these seven hectares of farm land he grows cassava. He gets around nine tons of cassava roots per hectare for sale on the market. To get more cassava roots for sale on the market Heang rents another plot of land that is around six hectares. The renting cost for this piece of land is around $200 per hectare. He uses his own tractor to plough his farm. He has been doing this for the past five years. Using his own tractor helps him cut down the cost for renting a tractor and he is able to plough the land on time like his neighbours. To get a strong working capital on his rice and cassava farming he wants a loan in order to purchase insecticide, weed killer, commercial fertilizer, diesel for tractor to plough the land, pay for renting the land and cover the labouring cost (he needs to hire around ten people to assist him on both planting and chopping cassava and each of them are paid around $5 a day for their work).
