Why I lend

In the huge impersonal world of organized charity, in which we seem so powerless to make a difference with small personal contributions, it is good to see an approach which brings down the walls of inaccurate abstract generalizations and the buffer of geographical distance to reveal the manageable scale of a global village in which we can focus on individuals in a more natural way and be able to make clearer and more confident personal judgments about the difference that even a small gesture can make.
