Loan description:
Ama Nyabledzi is a 47-year-old widow with three children aged between 16 and 24. Sadly, only one of her children has been able to go to school. Ama lives with her children in Atakpamé’s Douloussame quarter. For the last thirteen years or so, Ama has earned her living by buying and selling palm oil. She buys drums of oil in a neighbouring village situated in the plateau region renowned for its palm trees. She then sells them in Atakpamé from a stall opposite the second entrance to the large market. Before she began trading palm oil, Ama used to sell traditional clothing. Ama is requesting her first microfinance loan for a total of 360,000 West African francs, to be repaid over 12 months. She will use the loan to buy drums of oil to sell on. Ama dreams of seeing her business grow and prosper so that she can take better care of her children.
