Loan description:
Essohonam has just turned 23 and is married with a 3-year-old child. He is a tradesman and a few years ago, he set up his own business selling men’s and women’s clothing from a small shop. He did not give up on his business even during a period of poor sales and today, his perseverance has paid off. His shop, 'Uniprix Ltd.', is well-known in the district of Agbo for selling high-quality clothing at reasonable prices. Essohonam mainly sources his stock in the capital city of Lomé but sometimes buys locally from Atakpamé. What matters most to him is the quality of the goods he sells. Essohonam has benefitted greatly from being a long-standing customer of the microfinance institution WAGES and is now requesting his third loan. His initial two loans were repaid in full and enabled him to set up his shop. This third loan of 600,000 West African francs, repayable over 12 months, will be used to buy new clothes to ensure his customers remain loyal. In the future, Essohonam plans to open another shop to sell his products and wishes to recruit more staff in addition to the two he already employs. He hopes to put the profit he makes towards ensuring his child receives an excellent education.
