Consolacion Taboada is 65 years old. She is a widow and has two dependents - her nieces aged 20 and 16 respectively. She raises cattle and has been living in Carmen Toledo, Cebu for almost 35 years. Once the cattle are fully grown they are sold in the local public market. Her nieces help her feed and keep the area where they are housed clean for the animals. She takes particular care to ensure that her animals are in good health. She has been a regular borrower from the microfinance institution Lamac Multi Purpose Cooperative and has sought her tenth loan in order to buy calves. She also plans to renovate the area where her cattle are housed in order to accommodate more animals in the future. Any profit she makes are invested in the studies of her nieces who are in high school and college.
