Loan description:
Jorge Luis Yaguana is a farmer growing mainly maize, beans, cassava and coffee. He is 26, single and lives with his parents on their farm. His parents have given him part of the land to cultivate himself and he requested a loan in order to buy various inputs, mainly fertiliser, for the next sowing. In the evenings he continues with his college education. He has also registered on a course to obtain a profesional driver's license which is actually quite expensive. In the long-term Don Jorge Luis would like to continue with his education so that he might eventually obtain profesional employment as farming is physically demanding work. In the short-term he would like to buy a vehicle so that he can offer transport services to passengers in his rural community. He intends to repay the loan over nine months.
