Loan description:
José Ramos is 46 and married with three children. One of his children is studying at university, another is still in college while the third has enrolled in the army. He has followed his father's example, as Don Jose also served in the military for 24 years. He retired three years ago and with some of his severance payment bought a small farm and started raising cattle. He has been a borrower of the microfinance organisation Fundacion FACES for a couple of years now. He sells milk and when the cattle are fully mature he sells them for their meat. Don Jose requested a loan in order to buy two new animals to increase the size of his herd and his milk production. He will also buy some some extra food from neighbouring farmers as he does not quite have enough pasture for the cattle. He intends to repay the loan over 15 months.
