Loan description:
Mom Chhoeurm is 60 years old and she farms rice in about one hectare that yields a 2 ton crop for sale. Besides this, Mom and her husband have another plot of land of 7 hectares where they grow maize twice a year. The yield from her maize farming is around four tons per hectare which is a good yield and provides a reasonable income for their family. However, they need working capital at to grow their crops and they are applying for a 12 month loan to buy good quality seed of maize, insecticide, weed killer and pay for ploughing costs. The income from her maize farming will be used to cover next farming costs and on their daily expenses.
