Tchilalo is a 24 year old woman, mother of a 1 year old son. Her business is to buy and resell, charcoal. She lives in Lomé with her son and works from home. She buys her supplies in the north of the country.
Tchilalo is a woman very dedicated to her business which she started last year and also caring towards her family including her parents. She lives with them so she must work hard to provide for her son. This year she started to work with the microfinance institution WAGES. She is requesting a loan of 400,000 CFA francs that she will repay in 12 monthly installments.
With this loan, Tchilalo is to procure bags of charcoal to expand her business and with the income she expects to better meet her son's needs. The charcoal is either produced from wood which is already dead or when trees are cut a permit is obtained from the government - permits are only given when two trees are planted for every one cut.
